On September 7, opening ceremony for 2006 MBA Orientation Tsinghua SEM was held at Tsinghua Science Park. Nearly 300 MBAs participated the activity whose theme this year is Leading progress, Driving innovation & Creating legacies.

Yang Bin, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM and Mr. MeiMeng, Director of Tsinghua Science Park Development Center, unveiled the opening curtain. Yang delivered a speech, saying: “ In the eyes of Tsinghua SEM professors, nothing could be more valuable and respectable than creating a brand and glorifying it with hard work.” He encouraged students to cherish the opportunity to study at Tsinghua SEM to get well prepared for the future. Yang emphasized on the key role of a leader , and put forward five qualities MBA students in Tsinghua SEM should bear, namely, Feeling of hunger, sense-making, relating, visioning and inventing.

MeiMeng, Director of Tsinghua Science Park Development Center, and Wang Chuanxin, Chairman of SEM Students Association, made speeches respectively. Then, followed by all the students and teachers present, Yang and Mei took the lead to donate to the Hope Project and signed their names on the ceremony banner.

After the opening ceremony, all attendants took part in the forum themed on creation.

As sponsors, staffs from EMERSON, SK and KRAFT attended the activity, and media like The Economic Observer, China Business, MBAEDU network, etc. were invited.

MBA Orientation, which is viewed as one of the most significant parts in Tsinghua SEM's MBA education, has been held for 7 consecutive years. In the follow-up two-week orientation, which aims to foster students' sense of business, team spirit and communication skills, these new MBA students willexperience Outward Bound, Indoors Training and so on.
