From October 14 to 15, the 3rd 21st Century Managerial Personnel Seminar & Tsinghua SEM Alumni Association Human Resource Branch Founding Meeting was grandly held in Beijing Xiedao International Conference Center. Professors Zhang De, Yang Baiyin, Chen Guoquan, Wang Xueli, Qu Qing, Zhang Mian, Chi Wei and Jiang Lu from the Department of Human Resource and Organizational Behavior of Tsinghua SEM attended the meeting. 136 alumni of HR major also came to the meeting from all over the country. On the evening of October 14, Professor Chen Zhangwu, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM made his appearance at the meeting, expressing congratulations to the founding of the Branch on behalf of the School.

The meeting began at 10am of October 14. Qu Qing and Zhang Mian co-hosted the meeting. Professor Zhang De reviewed the past alumni activities in his opening remarks, hoping alumni could make full use of this platform for communication and mutual progress. He also pictured the bright future of the HR branch.

Over 10 Alumni from different walks of life made speeches on the topic of “How to Grow into a Qualified 21st Century Managerial Person” with reference to their work experiences. They shared their experiences with alumni and expressed their appreciation of the training they got at Tsinghua SEM and the communication opportunities like seminars. On the morning of October 15, alumni discussed in group the difficulties and puzzles in their work and group representatives reported their discussion results respectively.

At the meeting, Regulations of Tsinghua SEM Alumni Association Human Resource Branch and the Branch’s organizational framework were unanimously approved by the alumni present. 40 alumni were appointed as executive directors of the Branch, among whom Zhang De was the first president and Qu Qing and Zhang Mian were the secretary general and vice secretary general respectively. Ms. Xing Lijun, Director of the School Alumni Affairs Office briefed on progress in her office. She said the office would try hard to set up a platform of resource integration and sharing and provide services to alumni sincerely and efficiently so as to help with the development of alumni themselves and alumni’s businesses, which would further contribute to the development of Tsinghua SEM in return.
