On June 30, 40 students from Tsinghua MBA Class 05' finished their field trip to Shanxi Province and concluded the first stage of their research project on Shanxi tourism industry.

This social practice and research activity was initiated by students from MBA CLass F2, in the purpose of "Exploring Shanxi Business Culture and Promoting Tourism Development". Through close observations of representative industries in certain regions, students try to analyze Shanxi tourism industry's status quo, explore new business potential and opportunities, and further promote the local economic development.

This field research was primarily concentrated on the center and northwest region of Shanxi Province. Famous spots like Jinci, the Qiao's Courtyard, Pingyao Old City and Wutai Mountain were covered. Thanks to enthusiastic assistance and cooperation from the local government, students carried out their tourist surveys, focus group interviews and individual conversations smoothly.

In Sep, the practice team will present their findings and policy suggestions in their scheduled presentation. Economists and representatives from the Shanxi provincial government, places of interests and relevant tourism agencies will be invited, to jointly contribute their intellectual support to the further development of Shanxi Tourism Industry.
