In order to accommodate the development of economics inChina, promote domestic economic research and international academic exchange, Tsinghua School of Economics and Management has recently issued a quarterly academic journal named China Journal of Economics. Four issues a year, the journal will publish Chinese academic papers with original ideas as well as comprehensive reviews, covering all areas in economics, including finance and accounting.

What抯 worth mentioning is that the journal has two innovative policies. First of all, rather than having only one editor in chief, the journal invites seven co-editors, including Professor Bai Chongen, Gao Bin, Hong Yongmiao, Huang Haizhou, Li Zinai, Song Fengming, Zhu Xiaodong. Any of these seven editors has the right to adopt and deny any papers. This co-editing mechanism is extensively adopted by some top academic journals all around the world including AER, JPE and QJE. Since modern economics has developed to a stage that it抯 impossible for any single economist to understand all the frontier researches in every discipline, adopting this co-editing mechanism and the fact that each editor has their specialty in Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Econometrics, will surly better utilize the editors?academic knowledge and facilitate爐he selection process. The second policy is that the journal will invite scholars from home and abroad to the editorial board in order to foster academic exchange and internationalization ofChina抯 economic research.
