◢ Introduction

The Research Center for Healthcare Management, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University was established in 2008. Based on the abundant teaching and research resources of the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, it is a scientific research institution engaged in academic and educational research of healthcare management. Since its establishment, it has not only expanded and enriched the industry research field of the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, but also brought together many experts and scholars in fields related to healthcare management on the platform of the center, and actively promoted academic research and career development in the field of healthcare management, based on combination of the theory, practice, and the specific situation of China’s healthcare management.

In terms of research, the center effectively integrates relevant government resources, and carries out in-depth cooperation with national and local healthcommissionsand healthcare security departments. In addition to carrying out research on topics related to medical and health policies and management, it also actively participates in policy formulation, promotion, implementation, and evaluation; in terms of social services, it provides management consulting and implementationservices for healthcare institutions and industries, to effectively improve the operation and management of healthcare institutions and industries, and promote the integrated and balanced development of enterprise-university-research institution cooperation; in the aspect ofcultivatinghospital managementprofessionals, according to the strategic deployment of the university, the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management isone of theschools co-foundingthe Institute for Hospital Management of Tsinghua University. The center undertakes therole todevelophealthcaremanagement disciplines, explores the professional training model of high-level hospital management talents, develops high-level international cooperation resources foreducation, and actively establishes and develops contacts with peer organizations in international healthcare management education. The center has made practical, effective, and positive contributions in promoting the sustainable development of China’s healthcare undertakings and industries.
