◢ Introduction

The Tsinghua University-University of Chicago Joint Research Center for Economics and Finance was established in 2018. It was jointly established by the school and the Becker Friedman Institute of the University of Chicago. The center gathers the strengths of the two institutions in economic research, promotes the frontier economic research on China’s economy, to jointly develop scientific research, talent training and discipline construction in this field. The center will promote in-depth cooperation between the two universities in research fields such as “system and growth”, “China’s financial market”, “environment and energy economics” and “educational economics”, to promote more world-class academic research. In addition, it will also support the exchange and visit of economists and students between the two universities. It is committed to further promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, playing a greater role in promoting research on economic theories and policies, promoting global understanding of China’s economic growth, and making leading contributions to China’s economic and financial research nationwide and in the world.
