◢ Introduction

Found in 2023 by the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University, the Research Center for Global Trade and Industrial Competitiveness of Tsinghua University is a university-level research institution jointly initiated by Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and Tsinghua University, co-founded by School of Environment and School of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University.

Facing major changes in the international political and economic situation, China is confronted with huge challenges in terms of trade structure and foreign trade competitiveness. The Research Center for Global Trade and Industrial Competitiveness of Tsinghua University will study the integrated development of industrial competitiveness and international trade towards high-quality development of China. The center will carry out research in five dimensions including trade and international relations, international trade and capital flows, technological innovation strategy and industrial competitiveness enhancement, green trade, trade and digital economy. The Research Center for Global Trade and Industrial Competitiveness of Tsinghua University will make full use of the advantages of the Ministry-University cooperation platform to focus on the core areas of global trade and industrial competitiveness, serve the implementation of dual circulation strategy, and play a major role in cultivating new disciplines and enhancing international influence.
