【Background Information】

Dr. Cronqvist is Professor of Finance at CEIBS. He received a PhD in Finance from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, and an MS in Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics. Previously, he was the McMahon Family Chair of Corporate Finance and George R. Roberts Fellow at the Robert Day School of Economics and Finance at Claremont McKenna College. Prior to that, he was on the faculty at the Ohio State University, where he was a recipient of "The Pace Setters Outstanding Research Award," the Fisher College of Business' annual award for research contributions among its faculty. He is also an Affiliated Researcher at the Swedish Institute for Financial Research.

Dr. Cronqvist’s research interests include empirical corporate finance and behavioral finance. His research has appeared in top-journals in economics and finance, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and the Review of Financial Studies. Based on his research, he is regularly invited to give seminars at conferences and universities and to public policy makers around the world. Several of his research papers have been recognized with "Best Paper Awards" at academic conferences. His research has been featured in the Economist, Financial Times, and the Wall Street Journal, among other outlets.
