T. Todd Morrill
Todd manages Acquisitions, Business Development and Strategic Research
for the Life Sciences Group at Bio-Rad Laboratories, a $1.3 billion
manufacturer of biopharmaceutical research instrumentation, assays and
clinical diagnostics. Todd and his team are responsible for Group
strategy, acquisitions, business development and exploratory research;
they identify, negotiate, and close opportunities across Bio-Rad’s broad
proteomics, genomics, food science, and protein function interests.
Todd also works closely with the operating Divisions and international
subsidiaries to implement portfolio management and strategic directives,
and to access technology globally. Recently, he led the teams
integrating MJ Research, Proteomeweaver, ProteOptics and Ciphergen into
Bio-Rad globally.
In addition to his ‘day job’, Todd is an instructor at theHaasSchool
of Business at UC Berkeley, where he teaches ‘Entrepreneurship in
Biotechnology’ and courses in the Executive Program. These
graduate-level courses brings scientists, engineers, and business
students together to better understand the ‘concept to company’ process
in biotech and medical devices. The courses are sponsored by the Lester
Center for Entrepreneurship, the Berkeley Executive Education program,
and the Management of Technology program at Haas, the School of
Engineering, and Molecular and Cell Biology, UC Berkeley.
